Deleting text as a trigger

Hi, I'm doing a simulation where they enter text (3 letters) then they choose an item from a list that appears. The client wants them to then delete the 3 letters, and enter another 3 letters and choose from the list again...without hitting enter or search (a hotspot) as a trigger. I have no problem with entering the text and choosing from the list in the recording, but the screen recording automatically deleted the text and my problem is getting that "remove text" bit. Is there a way for the delete key to be a trigger to go to the next slide, much more have them hit delete 3 times? Thanks!
