Hi
I need to add a button in my sl 360 courses that open a dictionary(preferably an offline local dictionary) or if not a dictionary online. Should I do it using the web object option? Does anybody have a clue as to how it should be done?
ps. I dont want to simply trigger a particular button to a url. I would like the dictionary to open locally on the course page.
thanks

Hello Iman! I think web object would be a good way to go for you. I created a little mockup where on my base layer, I have a button to open a dictionary (actually a slide layer). On the slide layer, I've inserted an online dictionary as a web object, and it opens right in the slide.
I bet you can make this much prettier, though. :)
Check it out here.
hithank you for the great postIs there a way to use a local drive offline dictionary?
Hey Iman - If you attach as a Resource, you should be able to utilize this solution.
Hi
Can I add built in exe dictionaries that will open locally on the course? Or is this solution just for formats such as doc or pdf or...?
Hi Iman - I'm not sure about open locally within the course. I tested a hyperlink to an .exe, but it's a download and performed as such. So, I'm sure it could work, but outside of the slide/course would be my assumption since it is an executable.
