Different Glow Color Options for Different Imported Objects
Jul 29, 2014
This is a new one. I have several different Articulate Storyline projects (files). I have no idea what the folks who coded AS used as their criteria, but depending on which project I have opened, the color options for Format > Picture Effects > Glow vary greatly.
If the imported object is a "Shape", they're called "Shape Effects" and I get a nice range of glow colors to choose from - Blue, Red, Green, Purple, Teal, and Orange.
If the exact same object is imported as a "Picture", they're called "Picture Effects" and the color range isn't as spectacular - Blue, Yellow, (pale) Purple, (pale) Green, Brown(?), and Gray/Black.
In both cases, the "shape" is the same. But in one project it's a "Shape", and in another it's a "Picture". I even tried copying/pasting from the "Shape" AS file to the current "Picture" AS file; nope, it's still a "Picture" with the same less-than-desirable glow color palette.
I guess what I'm trying to figure out at the moment is how to convince AS that my object is a "Shape" so I can get my nice color options back.
Side Note: Annoying that I have to open a new session of AS just to load the other project (otherwise, the first project closes), but that's another thread.

IF you import from Ppt sometimes grouped objects will be converted to a picture.
The glow options actually come from your design tab under colours, it sounds like you have different colours set for each project, as I have the same glow options for images as I do for shapes
Phil,
I believe you fixed it! Profoundest thanks.
