Differents between scorm in Storyline 1 and Storyline 2

Sep 23, 2014

Hi.

I have a scormpackage created in ST2. When i publish it to a zip-file and trying to upload it to mys LMS it does not work.

BUT, When i take the exakt same files and publish it with exactly the same settings in ST1 it does work.

So my question is:
Is there any differenties between how ST1 and ST2 handle Scorm?

Hi Jacob,

I haven't heard of any changes to the SCORM Output, but have you tried testing your course at SCORM Cloud as that's an industry standard for testing SCORM content and then we can narrow it down a bit further to see if it's the actual course or how the LMS is reading it.

Also, here is some further documentation about Storyline 2 and SCORM.

Hello Jacob,

Here is the comparison of SL1 and SL2, both support SCORM 1.2 and 2004 for publishing.

Did you recreate the file in Storyline 1 the same way to try the upload?

You may want to try uploading into the SCORM Cloud, the industry standard for testing content, to see if you get the same issue with your Storyline 2 file.

Let us know if you continue to have issues with your file.

Ok.

What i did was the following.

I created a file in Storyline 1, we can call it File A. Then i published File A in Scorm (2004 2nd edition Passed/incomplete) and uploaded it to my LMS. It work perfectly.

Then i took file A.story and opened it in Storyline 2 and published it with exactly the same settings.
When i trying to upload it to my LMS, my LMS don't even accept the file.

Then i recreated the storyline file from the beginning in storyline 2. Same amount of slides, same pictures and same text.
We can call this File B. I published File B (same setting as above) and upload it to my Lms.
Without any problem.

So i guess it went wrong somewhere when i import the ST1 file to ST2
