I am very often working with layers. Now I have a layer with an embedded Video on it and I have disabled the user to click on the main Level. Unfortunately, he then is not able to start the Video. But once I deactivate the disabling Checkbox, the Video can be started without Problems.
I'm either not understanding your set up - or I'm unable to replicate this. I started a new Storyline file, with a base layer, set to show a layer when the timeline starts. On that layer I inserted a video file (MP4) and it's set to play when clicked. I also set the slide's layer properties to prevent the user from clicking on hte base layer.
I can preview the file, and the layer appears, and the video plays once I click on it. I can also stop/pause the video by clicking on it again. So everything is working as expected in this set up.
If you've set it up differently, can you share a copy of the .story file or walk me through the steps you took to set up your course?
I see, I forgot, to give you an important information. Viewing on a PC works fine and without problems. But not on an iPad. Even though, I published in HTML5.
Ok - I tested this on my iPad as well - and here is a link to the sample HTML5 output so that you could test it. This is the exact setup I mentioned earlier, and I can click on the video to play it.
If you're still having difficulty could you share an example here with us?
