Disable Fast Forward Feature on Video

Aug 03, 2012

Hi,

I would like to disable the fast forward feature in the video player, essentially forcing the audience to sit through the video.  How can I do this while still keeping the pause and volume buttons?

Thank you.

Hi Abi, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

I see where you reached out with a question here as well. I'd like to understand what you want to accomplish vs. what you are experiencing with your project.

Can you share a bit more about what you mean by "can the seekbar be viewed on when users are on an iPhone?"

  • You should see a seekbar when viewing on a mobile device if included in your player settings.

I want to look at your project file to investigate what's happening with your permission. You can share it publicly here or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when troubleshooting is complete.

Hi Marco,

I'm happy to chime in! I'd like to reference this reply from a similar post:

Since the video is embedded, you won't be able to restrict the controls through Storyline.

If the video auto-plays when the user visits the slide, then you can add a hotspot over the web object for the duration of the slide so that the controls cannot be accessed, but then the user will not be able to replay the video if desired.

Let me know if that helps!

Hi, also adding my vote for a feature like this. I really would like to be able to adjust the video player in Storyline 360. I don't want the picture-in-picture functionality for every video, neither do I want to fast forward functionality for some really important videos. As developers we really need more control over the video player in Storyline.
