Disabled Next Btn won't Normal when Btns Visited

Mar 26, 2019

What am I doing wrong? My disabled Next button is not changing state to Normal when the three buttons on the base slide are Visited. The buttons open lightboard slides located in a new scene. The base slide properties are set to "Resume saved state" when revisited. See attached .story.

Hi Jenny,

I think the problem lies in the fact that the timeline restarts every time you return to the main menu slide and this maybe affecting the status of the three buttons, even although they still appear to be showing as Visited.

What I have done in version 2 is to add three more variables, ARSumComplete, RateTrendComplete and PayorMixComplete, which are initially set to False and then change to True when the user selects the Next button at the end of each scene to return to the menu slide. I have then used the state of these variables rather than the Visited state of the buttons to change the state of the Next button to Normal and all appears to be OK. Just make sure that you get the triggers in the right order as it is essential to have the variables updated before the user is jumped back to the main menu.

Hi Jenny,

Our team is also investigating an issue where the next button remains in the disabled state on a revisit to the slide, even when the slide properties are set to Resume Saved state.

To workaround it while we continue investigating, look at adding these triggers to the slide or the Slide Master:

  • Change state of next button to disabled When the timeline reaches 0.5 seconds.
  • Change state of next button to normal When the timeline ends, on the condition that the buttons are visited.

We'll keep you posted on the issue here!

Hey there, Jenny!

We've consulted with our product team on the behavior where the Next button returns to disabled when revisiting the first slide, and I have some answers for you!

After careful review, we determined it to be by design based on the navigation features. For next steps, we recommend the settings outlined here.

We'd love to hear your thoughts around this setup, and do let us know if you need a hand!
