Disabling the seek bar

Jul 18, 2012

Does anyone know whether it's possible to disable the seek bar on the base layer without removing it from the player--meaning, control it on a slide level from the base layer.

Properties allows you to disable the seek bar on specific layers, but I can't find a way to do it from the base layer.

Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth,

I am not quite sure that I understant completely what you mean...

If you go to the properties of the base layer and click the drop down menu "Player features", you can select "custom for the selected slides" that lets you activate/deactivate the seekbar.

Does it make sense to you?

Don't hesitate to post back if you need further information.

We have had sucess making the seekbar...bar, i guess, match the background of the seekbar. You could even make it 100% transparent. Not ideal but at least the learner still has access to the play/pause and the replay buttons.  Click the Player button on the toolbar and then in the player click the link that says Show advanced color editing - kinda hard to see but it is right under the Color scheme box. Change the color of the seek position. you can check out Janet's document that shows what all these things mean.

You may have to play around with a couple of the other things in there too to get it just the way you want it.

Hope that is what you are looking for.
