We have discovered that our X out button is not visible in the review if viewed from a laptop screen, but when the same screen is pushed to a monitor then the X out button is visible.
Is this X out button how a learner would leave the course entirely? When you're viewing it on the different monitors, have you checked the browser zoom or overall screen resolution to see if those are the same? That could be playing into the difference you're seeing.
If you'd like to share a link to the course, I'm happy to give it a test as well.
So, it was a DPI issue but this is impractical where our learners are concerned. How do we relate every possible "glitch" to our learners to ensure they are having the best learning experience? Are there a best practices document that they need to read prior to taking anything made with SL?
I see you're in a case with Cleo -- thanks for sharing those screenshots.
The DPI setting is only for course creators. Learners do not need to use any particular display setting when viewing the course. There are no best practices learners need to follow, other than using a supported web browser to view the content.
Also, your issue sounds similar to one we were seeing in a previous version of Storyline 360, where slide objects would disappear in Chrome. We've since fixed that issue in Storyline 360 Update 26. Are you on the latest update?
