Hello,
4 pictures to explain the problem, better than a long text ;o)
Moodle 2.72+ and 2.6+
Storyline 1.6
The module designed (expected)
The Storyline SCORM package in Moodle (Current display)
-> Large space at the top
-> Module button unreachable at the bottom
The Storyline SCORM package in Moodle (New window)
-> Large space at the top
-> Module button unreachable at the bottom
A SCORM package generated by Chamilo in Moodle
-> No problem
I post the message in this storyline forum beacause I don't have the problem with standard SCORM packages. Maybe a bad interaction beetween a Storyline SCORM package and Moodle.
Have you ever met this situation ? A solution ?

Hi Joseph and welcome to Heroes,
Thanks for sharing the images here - and based on what I was reading in the one thread on the Moodle site - it seemed that a lot of the issues were solved in the newer releases which you are using. I haven't seen a lot of posts about this particular issue with Moodle - and typically I suggest testing courses at SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content.
Have you reached out to Dan Marsden who is answering in both of those threads to see if he had any additional information to share?
Thanks Ashley for your answer. It's good to have a place for this kind of discussion.
I really want to know if someone here using Storyline with Moodle. It should be a good point to understand what's going on.
My Storyline module works fine in SCORM Cloud, I had no doubt about it. My Chamilo module works also fine. Maybe a bad interaction beetween a Storyline SCORM package and Moodle.
I'm contacting Dan Marsden to see if there is some news.
We have lots of users here who utilize Moodle as their platform, so I hope that they're able to chime in here and share some additional information with you.
Have you tried switching your theme to see if that has any effect? We use Moodle (2.6.3) and don't have any of those display issues with our SCORM modules.
I thought we'd fixed all the remaining issues with display on the Moodle side in 2.7 - if you wouldn't mind firing through a package for me to take a look that would be useful.
thanks!
We have numerous SCORM packages that we developed in Articulate Storyline 1 and deployed in Moodle 2.7 with the More theme. The blank areas in the window are a problem. I've tried opening the package in a new window using various settings and have yet to find a satisfactory solution.
I tried the same SCORM module in Moodle 2.7 (our site) and the moodle.org sandbox (2.7.2). As you can see from the attached it works in the latest version of the two most standard and stable themes. That leads me to believe that the problem is not theme-related.
I recreated the slide in Captivate, published it as a SCORM package, and uploaded it to the Moodle demo site. As you can see, both Storyline and Captivate packages display with the same empty gap at the top of the screen.
Best thing to do would be to report a new bug in the Moodle tracker and include a SCORM package that allows us to reproduce this. I don't think there are any open theme related SCORM bugs in the Moodle tracker at the moment from memory.
We have created the issue Blank space in SCORM windows, MDL-47500 in the Moodle Tracker. If you would like to see this resolved more quickly, please logon the Tracker (register first, if necessary) and vote for the issue. If you have any technical capabilities or insights that will help fix the problem, please post them in the Tracker.
(While you are there, please also vote for MDL-45712. It will enable you to quickly analyze how many users are missing particular questions in Articulate quizzes.)
Thanks John, I'll try to look at that soon. I'm probably not going to get to it until November sometime as I'm currently slammed with a large backlog of paid work so my availability to fix stuff as a volunteer is pretty limited.
We need a Dan-clone!
For anyone interested, there is a lot of activity around this issue. For more information go to MDL-47500 in the Moodle Tracker. Once again, I encourage you to log in and vote.
Adding the custom css cited in this discussion worked for me in getting rid of the buffer at the top: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=271293#p1183796
I copied the css code below. Then in Moodle I went to...
Site Administration > Appearance > Themes > Clean (Because that's the theme we are using) > Custom CSS
I went to the end of the CSS code already in there and pasted the code and clicked Save Changes. This removed the buffer.
#page-mod-scorm-player {
margin-top: 0px;
padding-top: 0px;
}
#page-mod-scorm-player #scormpage #scorm_content {
height: 100%;
vertical-align: top;
}
/* Hide "Review mode" */
#page-mod-scorm-player #scormtop {
display: none;
width: 0px;
}
Nice, Will! Thanks for posting that. We've resolved most of our issues by popping up a new window for the SCORM and setting it to "display at user's browser size" and "resize to fit browser window". There are still a few gaps but it's working much better than it was trying to play the SCORMs embedded in the page. Your CSS should help us get rid of the gaps.
Glad this thread helped you out Jennifer!
Hello guys , I have a problem I have downloaded a storyline game and I package to SCORM with articulate storyline 2 , also I work in chamilo lms the last version but when I uploaded , i dont understand what happens, Is this the correct process ?
Please guys i need your help , i proved this game in scorm cloud and runs propertly
Hi David!
I'm not familiar with Chamilo LMS, but be sure that you are zipping the contents from the publish successful dialog box and uploading. Similar to how you added the zip file to test in SCORM Cloud.
Since you mention not being able to replicate there, you may want to follow up with your LMS.
I am delighted to report that Moodle just announced this problem is resolved. The fix will be available soon in Versions 3.0 and up.
See https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-47500
Wow - you've been dealing with this a while John. Thanks for popping in with an update and a link for those interested in reading more.
Hello,
I use Moodle 3.1 and I have alway the same problem.
Hi Aida,
I'm not familiar with the different Moodle versions, but have you reached out to the Moodle team or your LMS support to see what their thoughts are?
