Display Issues in Storyline 3

I keep getting two wonky display issues with Storyline 3 in Windows 10.
- My normal pointer is displaying correctly but as soon as it changes to a different pointer, like to change the size of the trigger panel for example, it gets really small.
- My trigger panel shows all of my triggers jumbled together. If I resize, it goes back to normal, but gets jumbled again when I revisit the slide.
These issues only happen in Storyline. I've added an attachment that shows both in one screenshot.
Thoughts?

Hi Tim. That does look a bit messy. Can I start by asking you what your scaling and resolution settings are? Go to your Display Settings in Windows, and let me know what you see here:
Can you also try signing out of Windows and signing back in (without shutting down)? This action resolved a similar "small cursor" issue a user was experiencing.
Let me know how you make out!
My scaling is at 150% and my resolution at 1920x1080, both the recommended settings.
It does seem like both issues are resolved for the time being after signing out of Windows and logging back in, so thanks for that suggestion! I've tried restarting before but hadn't tried just signing out.
Glad to hear things are back to normal, Tim! Let us know if you need anything else.
This has also been happening to me for months now. Doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's persistent. I'm on Windows 7. Resolution doesn't change it. It happens whether I'm just using laptop or external monitor.
Hi Nicole,
Thanks for sharing your experience. We haven't been able to recreate the issue on our side yet, but the more details we can get from customers who are seeing this, the better.
You mentioned you're using Windows 7. Aside from that, can you tell me more about your setup?
This is happening to me also and its really ticking me off! Sorry. I've rebooted 3x today and I don't really have time to keep messing with this. So, I have Storyline loaded on a NUk that I access remotely through my Mac. It has worked like a dream for almost 3 years now. This issue started a few months ago. Rebooting always took care of it until today. The most frustrating thing is eventually the Trigger panel stops letting me do things like re-order (the buttons just grey out) so I have no choice but to stop working and re-boot or log out and back in.
Everything should be current on my system: Windows 10, updates all current.
Running Storyline 360, I don't know about update status. I haven't been notified of an update recently so not sure. Your system for keeping us updated is a little frustrating.
FYI, my husband works in the internet security field. I'm pretty sure this isn't malware related.
Thanks for help,
Nora
Hi Nora,
If you need to know what version of Storyline you're using, you can check by going to the "Help" Tab -> "About Articulate Storyline."
The Articulate Desktop App will notify you when new updates are available, and you can read all of the details here.
Updating to the latest version will also repair your software installation.
Let us know what you find and if you need further assistance.
I don't know what you mean by "repair my software installation" You
make it sound like this issue is somehow my fault.
The software isn't giving me any indication that it isn't on the current
update. Like you said, if it supposed to let me know when to update, it
isn't doing that.
If there is a patch that is supposed to repair this issue then how do I
get it?
Extremely frustrated,
Nora
Hi Nora,
Really sorry you're dealing with this! It sounds like the triggers in your trigger panel are overlapping, is that right?
First, this issue is not your fault at all. We've seen other reports of this, so you're not alone. It's been a challenge for us to reproduce it in our own testing, but we're still investigating.
Multiple users have said that you can easily fix the overlap by slightly adjusting the width of the trigger pane--have you had success with that on your side?
Now, let's tackle software updates. When an update is available, you should see a blue bar at the top of your desktop app, like this. Have you seen this kind of notification?
If not, it may be helpful to reinstall your software. It's like doing a reset, and it should help to bring back that blue notification bar.
We're here to help, so please let us know if you have other questions!
Resizing the panel doesn't always work. And if it does it's only a temporary fix. I eventually need to restart. Doing this several times gets very frustrating. I sympathize with you Nora!
I am experiencing the same problem described above with intermittent jumbled trigger panel, where the trigger text lines suddenly overlap. Resizing the panel is usually a very temporary solution; it often jumbles again with the very next trigger addition. It really interrupts work flow. This has been happening for months and is very frustrating. I hope there is a solution soon!

I'm also experiencing this same issue. I have to pull the trigger panel out of the left-hand group, it fixes, then jumbles. Then, I add it back to the left-hand group, it fixes, then it jumbles. Not always, not predictably. Super annoying. My resolution settings are as depicted above.
So sorry this oddity is impacting your workflow, folks.
I know it takes valuable time to restart and adjust the trigger pane continuously, and it's especially frustrating when we can't recreate the behavior. We appreciate you all continuing to work through this with us.
Our team is still investigating this issue, and we'll keep everyone posted with any new information. If you run into this problem again, don't hesitate to also connect with our Support team here. They'll work with you one-on-one on your setup to troubleshoot and explore custom approaches.
Chiming in saying that mine is doing this now as well - just started in fact. Resizing was a temporary solution, and now some of the text is changing to white so I can't read the triggers at all even when I resize. Is there any news on a fix to this?
And allow me to add my voice to this thread. Same issues as posted above and only just started after the most recent update ( Storyline 360 v3.27.18822.0).
Super annoying. Resizing doesn't work. Sometimes clicking into the variables panel and back out works, most often it doesn't. Usually have to quit and restart. Not very workflow efficient.
Chiming in here as well as I am also experiencing the jumbled trigger panel. This issue only started for me after the most recent software update.
l am following on this also. I just decided to update mine to the latest last weekend and now having to deal with this mess. But I am in SL360.
Hey, everyone. Thanks for letting us know this bug is impacting your work. We're doing what we can to try and nail this down.
In the meantime, we've found that some people see an improvement after following these Storyline 360 repair steps.
We'll keep you posted as we continue to work through this!
Alyssa,
I follow the instructions but it didn't work for me.
Rolling back to an earlier version is the only viable solution at the moment.
Thankfully the Articulate 360 app offers an install "Other versions" and I have rolled back to the Feb release where the issue is non-existent.
Good tip to roll back 360 to the February install...issue is cleared up now.
Alyssa - will you notify in this thread when it's fixed so we can apply a more recent update?
This has been happening to me prior to February and in SL3 as well as I mentioned 7 or 8 months ago.
Hi folks. To test this issue, could you please share an example file where the trigger panel is displaying incorrectly as Diarmaid shared above? We're having a look at how this happens to a handful of users with certain files, and having a known file where it occurs is extremely helpful!
If you can privately share your file, please send it to me here. We will delete it when we're done troubleshooting. Thank you!
I am also experiencing this in Storyline 360. It is unworkable like this.
Ugh - sorry you've hit this too, Nancy! Our team is still looking into a variety of possible causes but we've yet to nail this down. If you spotted anything that's reproducible, we'd love to know more details.
