Displaying formulae
Jul 19, 2017
Hi
I am building a module from a word document that contains formulae that I want to copy and paste into the module.
The font for the formula is Cambria Math. I can copy and paste into PowerPoint no problem but when I paste into Storyline it turns into gobbledygook even though I have the font installed.
Any ideas on how I might be able to get this to work would be appreciated. (P.s I want to keep the formulae as editable text rather than convert it to images)
Cheers
Lynne

Hi Lynne
You can just create it as text, and use Superscript for the small numbers (it's been years since I touched a maths book, I forget their names!) and add a shape of a line. I created a quick one for you, see attached.
Hi Michael
Thanks for your reply. I want to avoid having to retype as there's a number of modules with formula throughout. I was hoping to find a way to get copy and paste to work.

Hi Lynne
I know it's a pain but can you go from Word to Notepad and then into Storyline?
Thanks Wendy for the suggestion. I tried that but it still doesn't hold the superscript and subscript format. Given that copy and paste works in PowerPoint I'm wondering if there's a setting that I need to change to make it work.

I use Mathtype to create statistics formulas and with it, I have to export it as an image.

If you formulas were created with equation editor, I don't believe that they will migrate outside of the Microsoft universe.
Thanks Brent
Ah, that makes sense in terms of why it works in PowerPoint and not Storyline.
And thanks for the heads up re Mathtype. I'll look into it.
Cheers
