Do not allow objects to touch
Feb 09, 2015
Hello All,
Does anyone know how create a trigger that will alert the student when two objects touch each other? For example, a student needs to put a wire in a beaker filled with solution and a metal plate. If the student drops the wire on the metal plate, or touching any of the edges of the beaker, an alert (or other - maybe a slide layer change?) should pop up and tell the students that the object can not touch the metal or the edge of the beakers, then resets the wire to the start location?
Do we need to use javascript in this instance? If so, anyone have any code handy that would work? I played around with the code a bit and couldn't get anything to produce. I'm not sure if a regular click and drop would recognize that objects are "touching" and trigger some action?
Thanks!

Have a look at the attached file. It uses the 'if object xyz is dragged over abc' trigger to show layers when the 'pointy thing' either touches the blue areas or is dropped on the red ball. Hope that gives you some ideas.
You're awesome, thank you!
Glad that Michael was able to assist you here Sing :)
