Does Storyline use third party Active X ? - please help

Mar 04, 2014

Hello, I've been given this requirement for an eLearning authoring tool:

·         The tool must not rely on 3rd party Active X or other client side COM components other than HTML5, Silverlight, or Flash

Does SToryline meet this criteria?

Thanks in advance!

Hi David,

The Storyline system requirements are outlined here,  but you may encounter an Active X error  if you view published output files on your local hard drive. Users shouldn't see this type of message when they view the content from the LMS or web serer.

If you view published Storyline content on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details.
