Does/Will Articulate Mobile Player support finger-swipe capability

May 01, 2013

Does anyone know if the Articulate Mobile Player that is used for published Articulate Storyline projects has or will have the capability to support finger-swipe actions for advancing or moving back when the published project is viewed on a tablet or touch screen?

Currently, the only options that i can find to advance or move back within the published project is to click/touch the Next or Previous buttons or program the PgUp or PgDn keys.  I thought that maybe it was a matter of using the story_htm5.html file as opposed to the story.html file, or using the native browser as opposed to the mobile player.  Unfortunately, none of these options made a difference.

This seems to be a major limitation as most students that use applications on tablets/touch screens assume that the finger-swipe functionality is available.

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Oscar!

One way you can navigate a Storyline course in the the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad is to use the two-finger swipe to go forward or back a slide.

However, this gesture will not work if you remove the Next buttons from your course player.  The two-finger swipe relies on these button triggers to know which slide to display.

If you don't want to remove the Next button, you can try modifying the transparency for the button colors in your Player settings.

Would this work for you?

Hey Christine,

OMG!  I feel like such and idiot. :-P   Thank you so much for this.  I had been just using one finger to swipe and had no idea that two were required.  Awesome!

We may have an issue though as we have disabled the Prev and Next buttons in the player and configured our our own buttons to move backwards and forwards in the the lessons.  We're are still in our POC phase, so we'll have to play around and see what works best.

Thank you again for your help!

Oscar
