Downloading Content for Offline Viewing

Aug 12, 2015

Dear E-Learning Heroes

Have you any experience with viewing content offline? I am creating for eLearning for tablets, but the learners need to be able to view the content offline. Can you advice me?

Hi Anne-mette and Yousef,

You'll need wifi to first download the content, and then you'll be able to play it offline. There isn't a way to directly open the content in the mobile player as they'll first need to access it where it's hosted on a web server or LMS to start the download. This was the same in Storyline 1 as it is in Storyline 2.

Hi,

I'm having trouble viewing content offline that was published to the web. I've tested downloading it and then turning my phone to airplane mode. When I go back into the app and select the lesson from the library, it looks like it's appearing to load, but nothing ever comes up on the screen. This is happening across three separate android phones. Is this a known issue? Or, do you have any ideas about what might be causing it?

Thanks.

Hi Marcia,

I don't see any particular reports of issues with offline content in the Mobile player for Android. What OS are you using on each of the phones? You'll want to confirm that you're accessing it in one of the supported browsers here and I'd also want to confirm that you're using the latest update of Storyline 2, Update 7.
