Drag and Drag, Groups, and States

Oct 18, 2019

I've seen lots of discussion similar the issue I'm having, but none that exactly fits my similar situation.

I'd like to create a freeform drag-and-drop. The drop targets are simply rectangles. The drag items are a little more complicated: the main content is a video file playing on the slide, but since I'd like to label the videos, they're actually in a group with a text box, as well as a rectangle (to create an outline for the video).

I have 4 pairs of targets/items.

The tricky part: on my "incorrect" feedback layer, I'd like to specify which pairs are incorrect. To do that I have a text box whose normal state is a "Correct" label above each target; I'm like to trigger the text box to show "Incorrect" (plus the correct answer) if the drop item state is drop incorrect.

The problem is, neither videos, nor groups can have states. So I can't find a way to set the feedback trigger to look for which particular item/targets have been incorrectly matched.

Any ideas?

Ren,

Thanks for the help. The problem with the solution you linked me to (grouping a video with another item so that the group can be chosen as a drop item) is that groups don't have associated states; that means I wouldn't be able to check them for "drop correct" or "drop incorrect" state, so I wouldn't be able customize my feedback.
