Drag and Drop

Jul 11, 2012

I'm trying to create a drag and drop interaction. I want the choices to be hidden or disappear once they drop it in the correct answer button. The current options (stack, tile, etc.) cover up the button they're supposed to drop it in. Is it also possible to provide feedback each time they drag an item to its correct or incorrect button before snapping back to its original location or disappearing into the button? Thanks in advance!

Yasmin, welcome to Storyline! Sadly, you've picked two options that don't exist currently in Storyline for the Drag/Drop functionality, but they are great suggestions. The Drag and Drop tutorial outlines the process if you haven't seen it already. It's pretty powerful!

A few thoughts that might be along the lines you're looking for:

  1. You can hide all but the first drag item at the outset, revealing them one at a time.
  2. Instead of snapping back if incorrectly dropped, you could uncheck the "Return item" option and allow users to get feedback after they've done all the work on the slide. I've included all the options below:

Hi Yasmin,

This thread should give you some help. Be sure to take a look at their examples where they outline what they did.

Here is another useful one.

Don't know if you seen this tutorial, but it should help you some as well.

Take a look at those and let me know if it was any help. If not, post here and I'll see what I can do. Might ask you to post your file like the others in the first two threads so I can take a look at it myself.
