Hi! I´ve created a Drag and Drop interaction with a custom submit button (I've turned off the submit button in the player). Everything works fine, except for the delayed DropCorrect and DropIncorrect states,
These states do change when I use the player submit button, but they don't change when I use my own custom button. How do I fix this?
If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a closer look at it. Please submit a case, including your .story file, using the link below so our support team can assist you further:
I was able to find Master's support case for this issue, as well as a report on the issue. It looks like this is a bug we're currently working to resolve. I don't have a lot of information on the status, unfortunately. It looks like we're still investigating why the states aren't changing properly with a custom button.
We will try to update this thread as soon as we have any updates on the issue.
I don't see any updates associated with the case Master previously submitted. Can you let me know what update of Storyline you're using, as it looks like originally Master was using update 2 and 3 and we're currently on update 5.
Same issue - Freeform drag and drop interaction - and using a custom Submit button - On submitting - I get the correct feedback layers but the 'Drop Correct' and 'Drop Incorrect' states won't show. Any solutions / updates?
Have you looked to see if the check box within the drag and drop set up to delay the feedback dropped states are being delayed until the interaction is submitted? If so, you'd need to revisit the base layer to see the change instead of on the correct/incorrect layer.
Ashley - As per your suggestion, if I am to delay the feedback dropped states, how should I move ahead with getting the learner to see the change on the base layer. I tried deleting the correct and incorrect layers and using just the base layer but doesnt seem to be working.
Bob - It'd me major help if you could share a sample of the story file which you used above. That is exactly what I'm chasing. Many thanks!
Here is an example by Steve that you may want to look at in regards to how to show the dropped correct states. If you're still having difficulty, any chance you could share what you have started so that we could take a look at how you've set up your drag and drop slide?
This is specific to the review set up, but I thought it was also worth sharing with you in regards to how to show the feedback during review of a drag and drop.
Thanks a lot for the two links. I had a look at the story file in Steve's post but since it is using the default Submit while I am trying to use a custom Submit button, I felt it would be better for me to share my story file (attached) and get your thoughts on it.
Requirements my story is trying to meet are:
- Each drop item has correct and incorrect states (I've already added those in the attached file)
- Feedback to wait till all items have been dropped and then learner clicks the Submit button
Thanks for your help, Alex. I was hoping that the answers would change to green/red rather than having a tick/cross next to the options. However, I very much appreciate your help and would love to have a look at the story file. Maybe a few tweaks in it would get us the right results
Ah ok, I get you know, not sure where I got the tick/cross idea from, I was obviously tired that day! Here is a working example, story file attached, let me know if you need any help with it.

Hi Sij,
Have you looked to see if the check box within the drag and drop set up to delay the feedback dropped states are being delayed until the interaction is submitted? If so, you'd need to revisit the base layer to see the change instead of on the correct/incorrect layer.
For what it's worth, it seems to be working OK for me (if I understand the issue correctly).

Sorry to be hasty but any solution would be major help!
