Drag and Drop does not work properly in Microsoft Edge

Jan 14, 2019

I've attached the relevant slide in my project.

The draggable objects are recognized by the "drop zones" are not. Those are named "Proper Usage" and "Improper Usage". In Internet Explorer the interaction works just fine.

Storyline 360 - v3.18.16333.0

Hi Katy

the first thing I'd do is upgrade to the latest version of SL. v3.23.17522.0 There have been some fixes to DnD features in the following updates that may affect what you are experiencing.

  • August 21, 2018 (Build 3.19.16600.0)
  • December 18, 2018 (Build 3.23.17480.0)

Welcome to the Articulate family, Katy!

So sorry you're hitting this roadblock in Edge! Great call to open a case about this behavior, too – I see that my teammate, Lea, shared her SCORM Cloud testing with you and also asked for a few other key details to help nail down the culprit.

Be sure to let her know, and keep us posted on whether updating Storyline 360 helps! I'll follow the case along as it progresses.

I have been researching this because I created a custom DnD interaction that does not work in edge. My drag items just snap back to their original position if I try to drop them on the target. This is an Edge bug - NOT STORYLINE. People cannot drop files/uploads/transfers into DnD features in Edge (for example, when you're uploading pictures to a site using a DnD feature).

Hi Julie,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you are seeing as well as the sample videos.

What version of Edge are you using? You'd want to be using the latest version as our documentation here shares.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
