I'm currently building out a large scale project and can't seem to figure out how to allow for a drag and drop (of multiple objects into two separate drop points) to both tile and drop on release.
Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated!
I want to make sure I've got the right idea here. Do you want to create a drag-and-drop interaction where each drag item has more than one correct drop target?
Yeah, that was rather ambiguously phrased, wasn't it?
Multiple objects into two different targets (six into one and five into the other), I'm looking to have them drop and drop (on release) into the drop targets (and tile at that point). Submission of the activity is carried out by a custom submit button.
My issue is that I can only seem to have either drag and drop (click to release due to allowing objects to snap to center and not tile), or not have stack as it conflicts with tiling.
Thanks, Joshua! That's definitely doable. So, have you run into any trouble so far? Are you finding that the drag object is "sticking" to the mouse when you try to drop it?
Ah, so sorry about that. That's a problem we're working on in Storyline 3 right now, and I'll keep you posted on when the fix is released.
If you don't mind sharing a copy of the interaction with me, I can try and see if there are any tweaks we can make to work around the issue for now. You can attach it here in a new thread comment.

Hey Joshua, thanks for your post!

Also, what version of Storyline are you using?

Oh, and I'm using SL3.
Thanks for the response, Alyssa!

That's precisely the issue that I'm having. I'm probably overlooking something simple, but again, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I assumed that it was a 'one or the other' instance, but figured I'd see if you lovely folks had any advice on working around the issue.
I've attached a copy of the slide for you to look over; don't mind the content, it's for a physiology course that I'm building.
Thanks, Joshua! Until the fix is released, I'd recommend changing the shuffle setting to "None". Here's a Peek at how it works with that setting!
I'll pop back in here to let you know once this problem is resolved. Best of luck on the rest of your project!
That's precisely what I'll do.
Thanks so much for all of your time, Alyssa!
Happy to help! 😁
