Drag and Drop, 2nd item wont drag!

Apr 12, 2021

I have a slide where the first drag and drop feature works and then it progresses to the next slide where the user is to drag and drop a second item into a hotspot(5 items total), by the second item (a heart) the object will not move from it's original place.

Please could you assist me at your earliest possible convenience.

Hello everyone!

I have great news to share! We are no longer seeing this bug where multiple Drag and Drop or Drag Over triggers cause succeeding drag instances to be unmovable when using our latest version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.72.29699.0).

Please let us know if you’re still noticing the issue, and we’ll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you in a support case.

Hello Nicole and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing when previewing your project.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

I published to Review 360 and LMS (SCORM 2004 3rd edition) and they now work.

I did fuss around awhile with mine, so might have stumbled onto the fix without knowing it.  Random things I tried, changing it to a freeform question, changing it back cause it didn't seem to solve the problem. Having it show a layer instead of jumping immediately to the next slide (just added a beep sound on the layer, super simple and short). But when previewing the individual slides during this, they both worked, it was only when I tried viewing them together or the whole scene that there was an issue.  But gave Review 360 a shot and it worked...and today it's behaving in preview.  Sorry, I don't have better suggestions for you.  Good luck with your project! The Articulate support team is great at sleuthing these things out, so you are in good hands.

Hello Michelle!

After looking at Nicole's case, our team reported that Multiple Drag and Drop/Drag Over triggers cause succeeding drag instances to be unmovable as a possible software bug. As a workaround, we recommend using Drop On instead of Drag Over triggers.

Here's more information on How We Tackle Bugs. We'll keep you updated in this discussion!
