Drag and Drop hidden state when incorrect?

Hi there, 

I have a drag and drop interaction that hides each draggable item after it's been dragged - my problem is if they drag incorrectly. I still want the draggable item to bounce back to the beginning and remain visible if they choose an incorrect drop location.

Is there a way to do both? I don't want the items to cover my drop locations.
