Drag and Drop Interactivity

Nov 25, 2015

Hey there,

Im looking at a basic spelling game for kids. I originally planned to us "fill in the blank" but as this is for young kids I want to have greater control of the style and make it as simple as possible.

The ultimate goal is to create a keyboard where the kids can use a drag and drop option to fill in the word and trigger a reveal of the word.

In the example I've attached it's the word "HAT". The drag and drop is working though the problem is the remaining letters of the keyboard. Ideally I'd like these to be selectable but incorrect - redherrings if you want to call them that.

Any suggestions of how to achieve this?

Hey Ian,

You can accomplish this using a free form drag & drop. Use the "convert to freeform" option under the "INSERT" tab and select "drag and drop". When you make the d&d in a free form, you can set all of your letters in the draggable column and then just set the drop-zones only for the spaces that actually get letters. The letters not linked to a drop-zone will still be draggable but won't stick anywhere. Then you can set triggers for correct/incorrect message to show when they are dropped in as well as set how you would like the d&d to behave with the 'Drag & Drop Options" button under the "DESIGN" tab.
