Drag and drop items fade or animate

I figured out how to make the items that are dragged and dropped to "disappear" when they are dropped on a target. But I want to make them fade or somehow exit slower when they are dropped. I tried changing settings on the states, but it doesn't look like animations can be set in various states, or I am doing it wrong. Ideas?
