Drag and Drop lock answer
Apr 10, 2014
Hello people!
I am not very active at this forum, but since the last time i've visit this forum i've got a lot more experienced in Articulate Storyline. Anyway, My 3th post, and second question. aggain about drag and drop.
I was wondering if there was just a easy setting to lock a answer in drag and drop once it is placed, and other wise a more complicated solution because I really need this lock answer mode in my Elearning course.
Thanks!
Greetings,
Rients

you could add a trigger to change the state to disabled when object dropped on (choose the correct target)
Thank you, I didn't think about that.
Thanks for the fast reply
Is there a way to close this topic?
Until next time!
No need to close it Rients - someone else may find it useful as well!
What SL3 needs is this: an option to lock answer once dropped, or the option to have a Disabled state that just makes the object unmovable while keeping its last state.
Thanks for the idea, and even better that you shared a mock-up! I'll get this to our Product team.
Keep the ideas coming!
For some reason the disabled state wasn't working for me on the correct drop - I think because I had custom feedback for each incorrect drop that was still being activated. I had to hide the drop target completely once correct (and hid a decoy drop target image behind) but now it works.
Hi Nicholas,
When you add in custom triggers, feedback or drop changes, that will override the existing built-in drag and drop options of Storyline. So that sounds like what you saw?
Happy to hear you found a method that'll work for you, but if you get stuck again feel free to share your .story file so that folks can take a look at it!
