Drag and drop; not tile, but stack from the bottom

Nov 12, 2015

Hi!

I want to use a drag and drop, but i want the dragitems to stack from the bottom. I'm using little squares, and i want them to tile from the bottom. Now they always tile from the top. But i want them to become a kind of a tower when you drag them on top of another. Is this possible in any way??

Thanks so much!

Hi Merel!

When setting up your drag and drop, these are the options to determine how they'll stack with one another:

A general explanation for each term would be as follows:

Tile - will drop on top of your target and other drop items so that just the corner edge is showing, kind of like fanning out a deck of cards.

Stack Random - will have the object(s) appear on the target, but in no particular location.

Stack offset - will have the object(s) appear on top of the target, offset just to the right a bit

Free - will place the object(s) on top of the target wherever the user lets it go

Snap to center - place the center of the object(s) over the center of the target

I'm not sure that what you are looking for is possible unless you set the targets up to mimic the design you wish to have.

I was able to make this work. Thank you. One last question, I have unlimited number of attempts. After the user clicks SUBMIT the layer for either try again (if they got any wrong) or correct (if they got them all right). After clicking try again however, the try again layer keeps popping up as I'm trying to correct the mistakes. Any advice? I'm assuming the show layer trigger needs a condition but i'm not sure what. Thanks!

It should not keep popping up unless you are hitting the Submit button? Do you have another trigger set for this layer?

You can see a stripped down sample of how this works in the file attached.

By default, the layer is set to close and should not trigger again unless the Submit button is selected.

If you could share a sample file, I could take a look. Perhaps you can remove the private content.
