Drag and Drop Quizzzes for HTML don't work on Safari Mac

Jul 05, 2013

We are finding the Drag & Drop Quiz player to be touchy in HTML5 published from Storyline.

On Windows, it works fine, as well as Firefox Mac.  For Safari Mac however, once you join the elements incorrectly, you can't re-order them.  You can try, but the same one that was there snaps back.

Anyo9ne else run into this?

Hi Leslie,

I don't think the other person's solution is relevant to what I am seeing, but just FYI, I found the best mix seems to be publishing both the Flash and HTML5 versions, and showing the Flash version in whatever browsers support it... otherwise defaulting to HTML5.  The bugs don't seem to show up in the HTML5 version on the iPad.... just on desktop Safari.  So, this is the best balance that seems to work everywhere.

Not sure if our client is going to end up going with Storyline as the dev tool, but it's a great product, and if the project is approved, we'll definitely move forward with using this.

Good Morning, Nathan.

I just wanted to hop in and point out that although Safari for Mac is a supported browser for viewing HTML5 output, there is not yet a browser on the market that fully supports the HTML5 standard, including Safari for Mac.

It is for this reason that if you link to the story.html file in the published output, Storyline will automatically determine which version of your content to display when users view it, and non-Flash compatible browsers (such as Mobile Safari on iPad) are the only platform where they'll see the HTML5 output.

Please let us know if you need anything else.  Thanks!
