Drag and drop randomly not working in some browsers

Recently I launched a module built in Storyline 360 which had drag and drop activities. The activities are not working for some people when using Internet Explorer and in Chrome. I cannot find what the difference is for those who it does work for and those who it does not.

Also, it is not our LMS as the issues also occur for some people when accessing via Articulate Review.

Is anyone else having this issue? It seemed to start around Nov - Dec 2017? Perhaps there is a known bug?

Any help with this would be life saving.

Hi John and Ruth!

We released a new update of Storyline 360 earlier this week that included a number of bug fixes for drag and drop interactions. 

If you haven't already, go ahead and install the latest update. Then republish the file, and let me know if you're still seeing the buggy behavior in Chrome and/or IE.

If you are still seeing the bug, could you share you file in a new thread comment? I'd like to take a closer look. Thanks!

Also, have you noticed a trend with the users who are having trouble? For example, are they all using the same web browser? Are they all experiencing the same issue when they get to the drag and drop slide? The more details you can provide, the better!

For some reason the drag and drop questions won't work for some people using Internet Explorer - for most of them it works, but not for some.  The issue is always the same - They can drag the items around the screen, but they always go back to their starting positions when they let go. They can't be placed on the 'drag here' answer spaces. This issue is not occurring in Chrome. I suspect it may be related to having an older version of IE, but after doing testing on different people's computers, I can't find the answer. Also, it isn't the LMS as they have the same issue when trying to complete the activities using Articulate Review.

Hi Stacey,

The original issue discussed here was fixed, and since then our team has released a number of other updates as we're now on Storyline 360, build 3.26.18364.0 (you can see all the fixes and features listed in the linked version history). I'd start by updating Storyline to that version, and if you're still having trouble let us know. We'll want to take a look at your .story file!
