Drag and drop/ state and review layer issues

May 20, 2014

Hello everyone!

I am working on my very first Storyline project and have been struggeling with a drag and drop interaction. I've tried states, variables and what feels like everything in between and still cannot get it to work. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The file is attached.

Here's what I like to see happening:

1. User drags the captions to the corresponding portions on the cultural iceberg

2. Once user clicks on submit, the wrong answers are highlighted (state = drop incorrect) and the review layer pops up.

These two things are sorta kinda working, however I think I've overcomplicated it a bit.

I'm struggeling with these conditions:

1. User cannot click submit until all captions have been moved onto either portion. (ideally there'd be a pop-up message - e.g. layer - asking them to complete the excercise and then taking them back to where they've left off)

2. Next button is disabled until review layer appears

3. Submit button is disabled when review layer appears

Any help would be super appreciated!!

Best,
Claudia

Hi everyone,

I played around a bit more and I believe the single most urgent issue would be to disable the "Submit" button untill all captions have been moved (either correctly or incorrectly). I created a T/F variable based on the state change of all captions and tied this to the "submit interaction" trigger but it did not do the trick.

As mentioned, any ideas would be super helpful!

Thanks!
Claudia
