Drag and Drop Trigger Not Working

Jan 08, 2019

Hello,

I have recently built a course in Storyline 2 on how to install and program a security device. I published my course and two weeks later my trigger for a drag and drop did not work. Here is a breakdown of the original slide build:

Layer 1 - Scenario into
Layer 2 - Swipe layer (Door reader would appear, user drags key fob in front of door reader [Hot spot] trigger state change and media to play. Another trigger for when media completes go to next layer)
Layer 3 - Next scenario .... then these steps repeat 2 more times.

I read that a solution was to copy the slide and paste it in a new scene. I did that and it did not work. I also read that by trying it in Storyline 3, that would fix problems. That has not worked. I have checked order of them on the timeline, making sure my object is above my hot spot. I have tried deleting the hot spot and creating it a new. No luck. I have tried coping the one instance it works but that has not seemed to work either.

The file attached is a Storyline 3 file. Scene 6 - Scenario is the issue. I have built it as follows:

Layer 1 - Scenario intro
Layer 2 - Swipe layer (Door reader appears, user drags key fob in front of door reader [Hot spot] to go to new layer. THIS IS THE PROBLEM LAYER. It works for the first instance but doesn't for the next two.
Layer 3 - Good/Bad swipe (state change and beep) goes to next layer when audio completes
Layer 4 - Next scenario

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Hannah Vanderpool

Hi Hannah,

I'd love to help and would need to take a look at your .story file to troubleshoot further. You mentioned attaching it, but I don't see any files as a part of your post.

Once I'm done troubleshooting I will delete it from my machine. If you’d prefer to keep the file private, please share with me directly by uploading it here.
