Drag but no Drop on Mac
Oct 11, 2017
I've created a course with a freeform drag and drop question.
- The 8 items appear one-at-a-time and the learner must drop them on one of two rectangles (do and don't). If dropped incorrectly, the item snaps back to the original spot.
- I've published it for an LMS with the fomat "HTML5 with Flash fallback and AMP"
This works as designed on a PC, but not on a Mac.
Using a Mac, the item snaps back if incorrect, but when placed on the correct drop target, the user is unable to "let go." The item can't be dropped.
I've tried both Safari and Firefox as the browser on the Mac, but with the same issue. As a work around, I added a next button, so Mac users can move on, but they'll never see more than one item in the interaction.
Has anyone run into this? If so, how did you correct it?

This is bug that I believe was fixed in the latest 360 update.
Ah, that's the one detail I forgot to mention. I'm using Storyline 3. Will it be fixed there?
Hi Michael!
Phil is correct, this was corrected in Storyline 360.
We do have the same issue reported for Storyline 3 and it should be included in the next release as well.
I will add this thread to the report so that we can update you.
Appreciate that! Thanks, as always, for the quick reply.
Of course Michael :)
Hi Michael!
Great news! We just released update 3 for Storyline 3! You can view all the new features and fixes here.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where drag items would not drop on targets (HTML5 output).
Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let us know if you have any questions!
