Drag & drop behind target??
Feb 03, 2015
Hello,
I have a graded free form drag and drop slide in Storyline, and I want the drag items to drop behind the targets so the learner can still see all of the target options when moving on to the next drag item. Is there a way to do this? If not, is there a way to make it happen with layers or states?
I don't want items stacking on top of the target because I have 3 drag items that need to go to the same target. I want learners to see all potential targets after each drag.

Hello Jacqueline!
You could have the drag items change their state to Hidden when they are dropped on their correct drop targets. Just add a trigger like this:
Thank you for your reply Emily. I did actually try that, but the way it changes state makes it look as if it totally disappears as they’re dragging it. I think it might confuse learners. Maybe that is my only option though. Thanks again!

You could have the drop target be a transparent shape over your real target that is smaller and allows part of the real target to always be visible.
Keep an object in front is not possible
Hello Jacqueline,
using the above trigger will not make the item hide until after the drop it on the target. Do you have an example to share of your set up?
Also, FYI, when you reply via email, you email signature will appear in the post. You can click on the edit button to remove this.
Okay-I've got it now. I didn't have all the correct selections in my trigger. Thanks so much for this and the tip about my signature in replies! Fabulous!
