I want to assign a pleasant, "correct" sound to a correctly dragged object and a "buzz" to an incorrectly dragged object. However, when I assign the incorrect sound effect, it nullifies the "return item to start point if dragged outside - a correct drop object" option. In other words, it won't snap back to the original position anymore. Remove the sound effect, and the option works fine.
Any ideas why this is happening? Thank you so much!
When you add additional triggers to a drag and drop interaction it overrides the built in options such as the snap back. There is not a way around this on the slide itself so you have to choose one or the other. Although it overrides the drag and drop options, the user should still be able to drag it to a new location to try and answer it again.
I've mocked this up using a freeform drag and drop - and some pretty horrible noises! It appears to work OK with no adverse effect on the snap back functionality. Not sure if I've correctly interpreted what you are looking to do but I hope this helps.
Thanks, Steve, but not exactly what I had in mind. I've removed the Submit button. What I want to occur is the following. If an object is dropped on to an incorrect location - in this case a hotspot (trigger removed) over a picture - an "incorrect" sound will play AND the object will snap back to its original location. For now, it appears that Ashley may be correct.
Yet, interestingly enough, if you assign a "correct" sound to an object and it's dragged on to the proper hotspot it will play the sound. If dragged on to an improper hotspot, it will snap back.
What apparently cannot happen is to assign two sound triggers to the same object. It nullifies the snap back option. There may be a work around, but none has come to mind yet.
Any other ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all.
