Drag & Drop - Submit button
Dec 30, 2016
Greetings,
I am working on a story that was created by a colleague that allows the learner unlimited attempts to drag and drop an item. There are no layers to indicate if the learner got an item incorrect, but once all the items are dragged to the correct target, (they will be appear to disappear in the slide) we want the learner to click next that will provide detail information on each of the dragged items in subsequent slides. - no score involved. - Currently using the built-in player.
On the other hand, the slide allows the learner to hit the submit button to advance. How do I prevent the submit button to advance until all objects in the drag and drop slide have been placed on their perspective targets? Currently, if one object is dragged onto the target the learner can hit the submit button to advance to the next slide.
I have tried different variables/triggers and still cannot seem to get the submit button to behave appropriately.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Hi Jeannie
it will be easier for someone to help you if you could upload your .story file and we can work with your specific file setup. Use the grey 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post to upload.
Hi Wendy,
I have attached the .story.
Hi there, Jeannie! I added a trigger to disable the submit button when the timeline starts, and a second trigger to change the state of the next button to Normal when the state of each of those drop items is hidden (as their state change only happens once they're dropped correctly). I applied this technique (article is for Storyline 1 and Next button, but same concept). Is that what you're going for?
Hi Crystal,
YES! Thank you so much!
Woohoo!! :)
