Drag n Drop Feedback Nov 01, 2012 By Brandy Meng How do I give instance feedback when the user drops an item on the target?
Rebecca Fleisch Cordeiro over 10 years ago11/01/12 at 8:17 am (UTC) Hi Brandy, There are a number of ways to do this. Here's one idea. I've attached a quick and inelegant sample To indicate an incorrect drop Click the Edit Drag and Drop button in the question pane on the right When the window opens, look on the right side of the screen. Click the "Return item to start point if..." check box. From the drop-down, select "a collect drop target" To indicate a correct drop Add a "drop correct state" for each target and format the target to look different somehow. Here, I've added a green check mark. Set up a trigger so that: Action: Change state of On Object: this is the target (in my case rectangle 1 or rectangle 2) To State: Drop Correct When : Object dropped on Object: this is the draggable item (in my case oval 1 or oval 2) Dropped on: again, this is the target drag_drop+for+brandy.story

Hi Brandy,
There are a number of ways to do this. Here's one idea. I've attached a quick and inelegant sample
To indicate an incorrect drop
Click the Edit Drag and Drop button in the question pane on the right
When the window opens, look on the right side of the screen.
Click the "Return item to start point if..." check box.
From the drop-down, select "a collect drop target"
To indicate a correct drop
Add a "drop correct state" for each target and format the target to look different somehow. Here, I've added a green check mark.
Set up a trigger so that:
Action: Change state of
On Object: this is the target (in my case rectangle 1 or rectangle 2)
To State: Drop Correct
When : Object dropped on
Object: this is the draggable item (in my case oval 1 or oval 2)
Dropped on: again, this is the target
Thank you Rebecca. That works great!
Nice tips, Becky
