Great question! If you want some of your items to return to their starting positions if dragged to the wrong location, that Drag Return option is a great one to use per object. Selecting Return Items to Start Point if Dropped Outside from the Drag Item Options section on the right side of the Drag and Drop Question Editor will automatically check that Drag Return option you're seeing for each object. If you don't want some of them to return to their start point, you can uncheck that option per object and that object will remain where ever it's dropped.
