Drop Down Graded Question

Oct 26, 2020

I have a graded question where I would like learners to say for a number of statements whether they risk is "high" or "low" - is it possible to do a drop down with only those two answers?  I have tried a Matching Drop Down template, but the drop down list comes up with multiple answers of high and low (i.e. the same number of answers as there are questions) rather than just two options.

Thanks

Nicola

Hi, Nicola,

The Matching Drop Down template won't work for what you want to do.

You can create a free-form question for this. I mocked up a quick example:

Here's what I did:

  • Set up a slide with the elements I wanted.
  • All the High & Low "buttons" are rectangles with a Normal and Selected state.
  • The High and Low buttons for a given statement have been put into a Button Set. This means they will act together: clicking one will automatically deselect the other.
  • After all that was set up, I converted the slide to a Free Form Multiple-Response question. That's done in the Insert tab.

  • In the Form View of the question, I indicated what the clickable items and which are correct.

You can see this in action in the attached file.
