Drop down quiz - Select not showing on HTML5

Apr 11, 2017

Hi everyone

In my published HTML5 course, the drop down menu options for a quiz is showing the first answer choice in all boxes, rather than 'Select'.

In HTML, this is not an issue and it shows correctly.

Is this just another HTML5 issue? I created the course in Storyline2

thank you
Sarah

Hey Sarah!

Thanks for reporting this here and sharing those screenshots. This sounds similar to an issue that's being investigated by our Quality Assurance team but I'd like to take a look at your .story project file to confirm. Would you mind sharing it here with me? You can add it as an attachment to a comment right in this thread. Really appreciate it!

Hi again Ali,

Can you please also tell me, are these HTML5 issues fixed in Storyline 3? I only just purchased Storyline 2 at the end of last year and only working with one client that has Storyline at the moment, so was hoping to avoid having to pay for an upgrade. But if all of these issues are fixed I might consider it.

Many thanks
Sarah

Hey Sarah!

Thanks so much for sharing your file with me. I was able to see what you're describing when I published your course and tested in SCORM Cloud and confirmed that this is the issue I was suspecting in my previous reply. I've gone ahead and added your post to the report. As soon as there is any information to share regarding this for Storyline 2, you'll be notified of it right away.

That being said, I did a quick test to see if this is fixed in Storyline 3 and the great news is that it does appear to be! I upgraded the example you shared to Storyline 3 and republished it using the HTML5 option. When you have a chance, check it out here in SCORM Cloud and let me know if you see it appearing as desired now.

Hello Vanessa and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry that you ran into an issue with the first answer displaying versus the --Select-- option.

We have reported it to our team, and continue to keep an eye on it to evaluate customer and course impact.

Here’s some more detail about how we tackle them when they occur. I can’t say if this issue will be fixed, but you’re in the right place to stay updated on this bug’s progress.
