I'm trying to create a simple dropdown menu that asks a student's year. I've created one using this method. However, it does not remember the selection the person has made. Is there a way to make a true dropdown menu that will keep the option the person chose?
Your technique is sound and the year selected IS remembered in the variable you created %learnerYear%
I added a trigger to each box on the drop down to close the layer when you make a choice. Then I moved the variable code to the box itself. It's working fine.
As you continue through your course, keep referencing %learnerYear% and you will see it remembers the choice.
Hi Jerry! I didn't think of putting the variable in the actual menu itself - that makes sense. Also putting the "hide this layer" when the user clicks on that rectangle, works great!
Thanks so much for the tips and for fixing my file.
