Hello- I have been asked to convert a DVD into a playable format for people to use. I know you can create a DVD from a Articulate project but can it from DVD to Articulate Storyline? I'm sorry if this question has been asked before.
Audio_TS and Video_TS are the standard files for a video DVD, the type of DVD you'd get if you bought a movie on DVD. You'll need another program to convert this format to MP4, or other format that Storyline recognizes. Storyline doesn't recognize Audio_TS/Video_TS. There are a number of programs that can do this; a popular one for Mac is Handbrake. There might be a PC version available. What you are looking for is a DVD ripper.
Once you have it in MP4 format you can insert it on a slide — or break it up into smaller chunks and insert it on multiple slide.
Ed, I use an inexpensive product called Cinematize to extract content from DVDs. Unfortunately, the manufacturer (www.miraizon.com) has stopped marketing their products. I'm sure there are similar tools available.
Thank you both Brent and Steve. The problem is that this dvd has different chapters. Will DVD ripper be able to separate the chapters (like smaller chunks as mentioned above)?
It's been a while since I've used Handbrake but I believe you extract just portions. I think some assembly is going to be required no matter what tool you use. If you can break it up in Cinematize or Handbrake it should be a small task to create your own menu structure in Storyline.

Can you be more specific about what you are trying to convert? What does the DVD contain? Audio? Video? A computer game? Software?

AUDIO_TS
VIDEO_TS

Yes, Cinematize can extract any desired portion of a title or chapter. I imagine similar tools can do the same.
