Rothrock - after you've created your freeform hotspot you will see a "Edit Hotspot" button to the upper right side of the slide. Clicking this button will allow you to make any edits you need to make.
I don't see "edit hotspot" I see "Edit drag and Drop."
I tried making a new hotspot on a non-drag and drop slide and I still don't see it.
I'm not talking about a hotspot quiz, I'm talking about Insert > Hotspot. (Probably a bad thing to have two different things in SL with the same name!)
I checked out the Hotspot (quiz) tutorial at that link. It shows how to move and resize the hotspot areas, but doesn't show anyway to actually edit the contour of the shape.
I'm guessing the only way is to delete and redraw?

Agreed - when I create just a free form hotspot on a regular slide, I can change the size of the hotspot but not the actual shape, meaning I can't change a rectangle to an oval or vice versa. Looks like the only way to do that is to delete and create a new one.
If you add the new one before deleting the old you can copy and paste any triggers (if any) from the old to the new before you delete the old one.
There isn't that functionality - but I could see why you'd want to do so. Instead why not look at changing it to a transparent shape? As long as it still has a line and a fill - albeit transparent - you can set it to behave the same as a hotspot.
OMG--I just found the shape option for pie slices that you can adjust the angles for! Between your suggestion (which I'm ashamed I didn't realize by myself) and that, I couldn't be happier right now.
Thanks Indrani for the update - as I was going to ask for you to clarify what you meant about changing it to a hotspot! Hotspots are invisible to the user, but are areas of the slide that can be clicked on to trigger an action - so having a text hotspot would be a bit counterintuitive as I understand it. Perhaps you could share a bit more about what you ended up doing so that folks here can use that idea in the future?
Sure thing Indrani, and in the meantime I also just wanted to let you know that responding via email includes your signature here - so you're welcome to edit that if you'd like.

Hope this helps!
Also, here are some great tutorials that really go into just about anything you may want to know about free form questions: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/adding-freeform-quiz-questions.aspx

Is it possible to convert a shape (using Insert > Shape) into a hotspot?
Hi Jay,
There isn't that functionality - but I could see why you'd want to do so. Instead why not look at changing it to a transparent shape? As long as it still has a line and a fill - albeit transparent - you can set it to behave the same as a hotspot.

Haha! Happy to hear it Jay - I personally am a big fan of anything pie...but didn't even think about the shape option.
Hope that leads to a great weekend for you - where fingers crossed, there is pie. :)
Hello, What is the best way to convert a text to an hotspot? thanks
I think I got it while playing around. thanks
