FYI if you have triggers attached to those states and decide to duplicate and change the name (as suggested by Emily) you will have to reassign the triggers.

Hello William,
Unfortunately you cannot edit the name of a state. When you are creating the new state, this is when you name them.
However, you could use the duplicate state button, and give the new duplicated state a different name, and then delete the previous one.

Isn't there still any way to change name of a state? (besides duplicate, but that's no good since the triggers will stop working).

After initially naming a state, there isn't any way to rename a state in Storyline 360.
