I have a SME who did a screen record in Storyline 360, but it needs quite a bit of editing. The editor in Storyline really doesn't allow for much such as cutting or deleting sections. Is there a way to export the file out to something for better editing?
How are you planning to use the screen recording? As a video on one slide, or as step-by-step slides?
As a video on one slide: In the screencast preview window, right-click the preview area and choose Export Video. This will save the video as an MP4 file which you can edit in another tool. When you're ready, import the video back into Storyline.
As step-by-step slides: Since you can only insert step-by-step slides using videos that were recorded in Storyline, I wouldn't export the MP4 and edit it in another tool. Instead, insert the step-by-step slides, then delete the slides you don't need. You can even change the starting and ending frames for each slide with the Action Fine Tuning editor.
I am using the video on one slide. When I right click on the video I am not getting any option to export. See attached screen shot, perhaps I am not on the right screen?
It's actually in the window before inserting it on the slide.
Since your video is already inserted on the slide, you can go back to this window by clicking the Slides tab, then Record Screen. Click on the video labeled "In Use", and the Insert Slides window will appear.
