i wouldnt use storyline for this. I use premiere pro from Adobe to edit mp4s and Audacity to edit sound.

Since I created the video in Storyline, is there a way that I can export it so I can use another program to edit it?
When you publish your content you should see a .mp4 file of your video in the content folder. That video can then be edited in some other tool.
