You might be able to do that in full fledged video editing programs like Adobe Premiere. Yes, you can add an audio track separate from the video to use as a companion to the video. Just mute the audio in the video using SL. Be sure to test that everything tracks properly. This was a concern with earlier versions of SL but was improved greatly.
