Embed PDF for offline presentation

I know there are other threads about this, but I haven't been able to resolve my issue...

I have created a rather large learning object in Storyline on Mentoring… which is all good and great…

But now I need to be able to present this learning object offline – no internet access whatsoever… not so great…

I have a link to a PDF in the learning object, which only works if you have internet access…

Is there a way that I can embed the PDF into the learning object so that no internet access is required in any shape or form, at any time? And that the PDF is included in the CD output folder?

I have added the PDF to 'Resources' in the Player...

Could the issue be because the name of my PDF is too long?

I have searched through the forums and found them very confusing and I have had no success…

Hi there Julie,

You should be able to either attach a PDF through the Resources menu and publish for CD, or hyperlink to a PDF file.  However, if you're going to link to the file, you'll need to make sure that the PDF is included in one of the folders for your CD published output.

This way, the PDF will launch on the machine of the user. If the file isn't included, they won't be able to view it.

Are you able to share the PDF file? I'd be happy to take look and see if I can get this working for you with a CD project.

Thanks!

Christine

Good morning Julie,

Thanks for the file, but I'm afraid I won't be able to work with the published output.

Can you share the .STORY file for the course, instead please? It'll be a single project file and listed as an "Articulate Storyline Story" as the file type.

Let me know if you have any trouble finding this.

Thanks! :)
