Embed Sketchfab with transparent background

Aug 29, 2017

Hi, I normally Embed a Sketchfab file with transparent background as a web video but recently the background goes white, which appears to be a new storyline embed issue. Previous files worked fine but new publish do not.

Embedding sketchfab outside of storyline works fine.

I'm assuming the issue may be that the background of any embed(including sketchfab) is now white by default,  could this be the case?

Regards

Byron

I'm also talking to James at Sketchfab, here

I think the tests I have done show it's Sl,

A link with a sample of the occurrence - go to slide 2

You'll see a white background, this normally works nice and transparent, I have older published files that still work fine, as soon as I re-publish the file with version v3.712674 I receive the white background on embeds, thanks.

Hey Byron.  Thanks for confirmation of that...neat interactive fireman, by the way.  🙂

It matches the issue that's on our radar.  I'm sorry it's interfering with your course design!  I'm adding this discussion onto our documentation.  When we have an update to share, I'll be able to let you know in this thread.

Thanks Crystal, I'm just glad I didn't create a client project with transparent webGL yet.

The Fireman was made with Reallusion's iClone, Character creator, exported with 3Dxchange to sketchfab and is considered a previsualisation(Previz), in this technology prototype when signed-off, the final 3d renders and animations will be made by our 3D artists and replace the placeholder fireman the final 3D characters more stylized.
