I'm trying to embed some html code into Storyline and I'm wondering at this point if it's even a possibility. I've tried embedding it as a video, but the code is rejected because it's not a video file. For this instance I can skip it, but I would like to know if embedding html code into Storyline is possible without too much of a technical work around.
While I haven't personally tried to do this myself, it looks like you may be able to do something similar by modifying the code and using the video method you tried before:
Did you confirm that you were testing in the intended publish environment as Michael mentioned? If you're testing it locally that may be why things are not working as expected.

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Amanda!

embed HTML code in storyline slide
If that still doesn't work for you, try hopping into that discussion or you might be able to insert the content/source as a web object.
I hope that helps!
This is only work with flash type html. Because of the puzzle. I tried general html code but it didn't work either.
You could try creating it as a separate web page and then inserting it as a web object.
Great idea Nancy. Thanks for jumping in to assist Virak here :)
Thanks for your suggestion Nancy. Let me try it. :-)
Hi Virak, let me know how it works out.
Hi Nancy, actually I was working on other urgent project and haven't been testing it fully yet. Sorry! But I'm sure it will work. :-)
Thanks for popping in with an update Virak ;) Good luck!
I had some flash content to upload and the Video strategy worked as a charm! Thanks!
Would anyone be able to help me embed a video from the following link: http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/442/ into a Storyline slide? I used the site's embed code in S2 by going to "insert Video from Website": <embed src="http://www.pbs.org/now/media_player/flvplayer1.swf" width="512" height="308" bgcolor="000000" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="file=http://www-tc.pbs.org/now/video/NOW-442-stream.mp4&plugins=embed-1&image=http://www-tc.pbs.org/now/shows/442/images/video-512.jpg"></embed> When I published it though, I was not able to click on the video and get it to work (the screen was blank where this object was placed). So, I tried inserting a web object, but then you get the whole website, not the actual video (the embed code won't work here).
Help please!
Upload the published content to some webserver and test again. I tried the embed code and it worked for me.
It is coming up blank when I publish using the first method. I tried again. What am I doing wrong?
What browser are you using? Have you cleared the cache? I've found that to be a hang up for me sometimes.
Hi Caitlin,
Did you confirm that you were testing in the intended publish environment as Michael mentioned? If you're testing it locally that may be why things are not working as expected.
