is it possible to embed the java app in storyline and will it work even if i publish it as a stand-alone, an html5 or an swf? Can it communicate (read/writer variables) with the embedded java app? no matter how i publish it? if it can, how? can you give me an example?
Thanks a lot for that article link but I am afraid that it helps me little (not so much). My idea was to embed a web-3d object that was done in Java (not in Javascript) and I hope to publish it as a stand-alone, an IPAD app, and an swf or HTLM5. Most of my data will be on a server (so i guess, a javascipt can help me with this so thanks for the link). I do hope someone can help me in this regard since I was planning to include e-learning (storyline for that matter) as one of my proposals to the management.
I'm still not really clear on what you're hoping to do, but currently, Storyline doesn't support 3-D rotation. It also cannot be output as a single SWF. This table compares the Storyline features that are supported in the Flash Player, HTML5, and the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad.
I'll try yo rephrase it. I embed this web 3d in my web pages (any ordinary html) using the embed command. The web-3d object communicates/sends variables through the html (via javascript). My question is, I am very new about articulate and elearning, can I still do these process within storyline no matter where I publish this? I see a potential to convince the management if I could also show that we can still provide them (our clients) e-learning and interactive-3d at the same time? Sorry if I complicated the inquiries since I am very new to this.
thank you so much for this. this is a start - i guess. i have so many more questions about this but maybe after i try this one out first. thanks again @peter.

Greetings!
Does the Knowledge Base Article on JavaScript best practices and examples help you at all?
Good Luck!

Thanks for the extra info, RS. Sounds like maybe a web object is more of what you're looking for?

Hi RS,
I think with the iPad you're going to be completely limited. Don't think there is any way to play a Java applet on it.
Cheers
Charlie
